Needlepoint Alphabet - Free Patterns
These days I seem to be thinking about needlepoint alphabets alot. There are some fantastic resources on the Web for creating your own charted words, creating an alphabet, or just great charts. Here's a round-up of my favorites:
- Free Patterns On-line Alphabets
Scroll down a little bit and find over 40 alphabets, mostly small and simple, available on-line. There is even a Greek upper case alphabet for sorority and fraternity initials.- Tink Boord-Dill has three free alphabets on her site.
Americana,
Tempo,
and
Seasons.
- Caption Generator
generates either backstitch or charted sayings as JPGs in your choise of 21 fonts. You can specify size, width and color as well as centering and word wrapping. A perfect tool for charting names.
- Times New Roman
14-stitch tall version of this elegant typeface. Both upper and lower case letters.
- Subversive Cross Stitch
Free alphabets from this creator of unconventional cross stitch kits.
- French Alphabet
A lovely vintage embellished alphabet (like on old linens) for needlepoint or cross stitch. There are also several alphabets for non-counted embroidery on the site.
- Medieval Alphabet
Two medieval alphabets in two chart formats.
- Bold Monogram Alphabet
From designer Barbara Bergsten, a wonderful, large upper case alphabet. Another great choice for charting names.
With needlepoint alphabets like these available free you'll never lack resources to personalize any project.
